Donkey Rugs

A donkey has different proportions than a standard horse or pony and therefore when choosing a donkey rug you will need to take this into account. A donkey has a smaller neck, chest and shoulders than a pony, so not only will a smaller pony rug be a bad fit, it can hinder their movement too.

Getting a properly fitted rug means your donkey is protected and helps keep them comfortable. It will prevent rubbing and discomfort. For donkeys, a rug also becomes especially important as they get older, when they will find it harder to keep themselves warm in the colder months.

Measuring For Your Donkey Rug

The rugs here start at 2’9”. And to help you get the right fit we’ve created this helpful rug measuring guide. If your donkey’s measurements fall in between sizes we recommend you go up a size. Our rugs go up in 3” increments.
