Heavy Horse 100g 1200D V2 Turnout Rug

The Ruggles heavy horse 100g turnout rug is designed specifically to fit the heavier breeds such as the Shire, Clydesdale, Percheron etc so they are cut with extra depth down the sides and more generous at the shoulder and chest. The rug is sold as a standard rug, and a neck cover can be purchased, if required. The necks are listed separately.

The rug is manufactured with 1200D waterproof and breathable outer fabric (5000mm/5000g/m²/24hrs). The outer fabric has been Teflon™ coated which provides extra protection. The Teflon™ coating also results in less staining and absorption as moisture beads more effectively from the rug. This also makes the rug lighter to handle in wet conditions.

The heavy horse 100g 1200D rug is cut extra deep and more generously at the chest to ensure a good fit on these broader builds of horse. The rug has a soft nylon lining which helps to prevent rubbing and keep the coat smooth. Taped seams feature.

Other features of this rug are cross surcingles with rubber washers which help to prevent unfastening and a very generous tail flap. The tail flap has a reflective strip.

The rug has taped seams and very generous shoulder gussets which allows freer movement for the horse. There is a wither protector fitted for extra comfort.

There are detachable webbing leg straps which are not sewn in meaning they can be removed if not required. Another advantage is they can be easily replaced (without the need for expensive repairs) if damaged.

At the chest there are double adjustable straps with D rings and robust trigger clips. The benefit here is that once adjusted to the horse putting on and off is nice and quick as just two clips to attach. Velcro at the chest also features.

Either side of the wither protector is a heavy duty Velcro strip with cover for attaching a neck cover if required. The matching necks are listed separately.

There are reflective strips at the chest, hind quarters and tail flap – useful if leading on roads.

The rugs are machine washable and are packed in a zipped bag with handles – useful for storing the rug when not in use.
